HLTAID011 Provide first aid [Ver. 1]

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) R5

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. It applies to all workers who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

This course is designed as a basic first aid course. It applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

HLTAID004 Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting R5

This course is designed for educators in early childhood education and care services. It includes asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.


HLTAID006 Provide Advanced First Aid R5

This is designed as a more advanced first aid course. It includes management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. It applies to workers who may be required to provide, coordinate and manage a first aid response across a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.
